Mazey Eddings · From the Messy Desk of Mazey Eddings

As of writing this we are only 49 hours away from Well, Actually’s release!! Life has been a whole helluva lot lately, and I blinked and next thing I knew, I was stranded in the Charlotte airport with a cancelled flight for my first tour stop and a whole lot of time to do nothing but think (god help us all).

For those of you that have been around for awhile, you know I have some of the worst travel luck. I don’t even know that I believe in lucky, but there is something going on here (generational curse, maybe? I need an etsy witch to save me please and thanks). Here’s a very rough overview of the chaos of the past 36 hours:

My first tour stop is at Novel Neighbor on Monday in St. Louis, and I decided to head to STL a few days early with my husband for a much needed getaway. We were supposed to leave Asheville at 6:30 am on Friday and land in STL around 9:45 am. Thursday night, we’re both exhausted, I’ve been spiraling over packing, and am about to crash when we get a notice our flight for the next morning was cancelled. We spend a few hours fruitlessly looking for a new booking. The next morning, we’re still searching, when we find out there’s a flight out of Charlotte directly to St. Louis that will get us in around 3 pm. Not too bad, right? Right! But then the airline rebooks us on two different flights. Not… great, but still okay. So we drive the two hours to Charlotte, my husband gets on his plane and then he… sits there. For about two hours while biblical type of thunderstorms flood the runway. Meanwhile, I get a notification every four minutes that my flight has been delayed. He waits so long on the plane that the pilot times out and they have to go back to the gate. They then search for a new pilot, find one, then say…. meh lets just cancel this bad boy. At this point, my flight has been delayed five hours, and my husband is booked on yet another different flight. Long story very short, we finally get to St. Louis around 1 am Saturday morning, which is when we discover that the airline lost our luggage, which held all of the preorder goodies. But, as of ten minutes ago, the luggage has been found!!! The stickers are safe!!!

All this to say, my nervous system is fried, and I forgot to pick up my ADHD meds before tour so we are raw dogging some executive (and basic) functioning over the next week, yeehaw! I am going to a different state every day, and this is a very gentle request that whoever has my voodoo doll, please either give her a breather or just go for the full lobotomy please and thanks 👹

Monday is the start of it all and as a born and raised midwesterner, I am so excited to be back in St. Louis! Will I see you there? Or any of the other stops??

For those of you that have read advanced copies of Well, Actually you know how crucial Rylie’s kitschy crewnecks are. While it’s too hot for crewnecks right now (says the woman wearing sweatshirts year round because I like to feel snuggled), I did bring this dream wardrobe to life with some ridiculous crop tops that I may or may not be wearing on tour… Check out my merch store here!

Here’s this thing:

All my love,
