Welcome! If you’re new around here, Max Most Loved is my monthly collection of little things that I have been thinking are cute, fun, and sexy lately. Feel free to check out a few recent issues, I bet you’ll find we have plenty in common!
♥️ Can you believe I’m just now reading Neuromancer for the first time? Me neither honestly. I have been haunting hotel bars up and down the east coast with my eyes glued to these pages. Before I got sick and had to reschedule my live stream, I was so hyped on this book, I wanted to dedicate my entire broadcast to just gushing about it with you. And I still might work in a bit of that…
♥️ Valentine’s Day! My favorite holiday. Over the years, I have published some pretty fun hot takes about the modern repulsion to VDay, but this year I just want to enjoy it rather than lecturing contrarians who want to ruin all my fun.
My live stream reschedule will be on Feb 13th so I will get to spend some of the holiday with you! Hang out with me and drink rose while I chit chat and make Valentines. It’ll be our own digital dinner date 🥂
If you were at a previous live stream, I attempted to decorate a cake and mold Christmas ornaments which led to…results. I promise I am actually very good at textile and paper crafts, so you’ll finally get to see me in my element!
Even if you don’t care about Valentines, just come hang out to see what I’m wearing.
I updated my wishlist just in time if you would like to help me celebrate the old fashioned way. I’ll never be mad at a box of chocolates either!
♥️ Ground News I have known about Ground for awhile now, but I figured it was time to walk the walk if I’m going to talk a big game. Ground News is an aggregator where you can search any headline and it will show you the same topic from multiple newspapers all over the world.
It lists at the top of each article how reliably factual the paper is, what political biases it may cater to, what country its published in, and, most importantly, who owns the publication. The app even curates topics that may be a blindspot for you because your social media feed thought you wouldn’t like it.
You can look at 10 different versions of the same story and they will all tell it differently to suit their own narrative. It is incredible how you can switch up the vocabulary and the implications will change completely in the mind of the reader. When it is becoming increasingly difficult to separate truth from fiction and everyone is trapped in their own custom algorithm, this is a great resource to get yourself out of that box and see it all a little more clearly.
♥️ Pilates on Youtube. I wfh so I usually take any opportunity to switch up the scenery and go to another location. I never looked into work out videos online because I really enjoy being at the gym. But this recent snowstorm shook up my schedule and I am very much a creature of habit. I adore routine. I can’t rely on class cancellations or trying to hike half a mile in the snow. I had to take things into my own hands and be a Pilates Princess in my own living room.
I’ve been liking it a lot! I’ve done it daily for the past two weeks and have no intention of stopping even when the weather warms up. When I was younger, I would really push myself during work outs and get hurt, but these days, a couple of 30mins of pilates sessions + a few days of lifting in the gym is all I need.
♥️ And lastly, I love being educated on my rights and knowing that “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
