We’re hosting a literary scavenger hunt (with collectible prizes, straight from Penguin Random House!), free books*, a mini book recommendation station for the (book) lovers, and free bookish goodies (also directly from the publisher!). This event is free and open to all!

The Philadelphia Bookstore Crawl is so back on Saturday, August 22nd! This year, we’re going above and beyond with 3 Golden Ticket Searches (finders keepers win a Mavey gift card!), author signings with geniuses such as: M.S. Masood (The Unnamed), Kevin ‘Kayr’ Robinson (Can’t Break Me), and Paul Kahan (Philadelphia: A Narrative History), a collectible calligraphy popup, free books, and even free Mavey stickers for the first 25 customers! It’s the kind of day you’ll want to camp out at the bookstore all day for! Free and open to all!
On Tuesday, September 1st, we’re celebrating the release of The Knave and the Moon with a fantastical release party! Admission earns you: a night of Tournaments, a (likely never ending) search for Bartholomew, games for diviners, entry into a Knight and Diviner costume contest, delicacies and non-alcoholic drinks, and a copy of the Knave and the Moon! Tickets are required to join.
Our bookclubs for August allll the way through October are now here! This year’s bookclubs include: a classic by the inimitable bell hooks, a lottery winner on the search to reunite with an old crush, and a tale of a man and his cat escaping a dungeon. Book club is open to all - just purchase the book at Mavey and rsvp online to join!
Finally, by the time you’re reading this, Nadia and I are puttering off to ye olde Baltimore, Maryland for a book conference. While we’re off, the bookstore will be heartily manned by our wonderful, incredible, amazing booksellers - Mavey will be open 9.30-5.30, as usual! Go read a book and say hi!
