The spin shows up on slow kitchen dinks: the ball bites and dips where most surfaces let it push long. It swings light for a foam core. Stability is low in stock form, so plan on a few grams at 3 and 9, and the Crystal Blue surface is UPA-A only.

Power comes out of swing speed: swing fast and it serves hot without a heavy head behind it. After 100 hours the face still measures rougher than 3 of its closest competitors do new. UPA-A only, so it is a hard pass for USAP tournament play.

On sale as of this morning after a month at the top of the research board with nowhere to buy it. I picked it up and played, with none of the few sessions I usually need to stop thinking about a new paddle. The bite is there at slow swing speeds, so you do not have to swing fast to get the ball to drop, and the balance sits forward enough that drives plow through the ball. PermagritNano is peel-ply based, and Spartus has been open that it is a step below their original grit, but grit durability is holding up very nicely.

Contact is crisp, with a sharper crack on drives. Give it 4 to 8 hours to break in: I wanted to put it down after 2 games and it clicked on the third. The face is plain coarse peel ply, so grit is the compromise at this price.

The elongated take on the same Crystal Blue surface, with more mass through contact and the sweet spot pushed further out. Twist weight sits on the low end, so contact toward the tip or the rail registers in your hand; 3 grams on the sides gets it where I want it. UPA-A only.

This one is loud. The ball jumps off the face, and the swing comes around faster than anything I have measured near this price. Hard resets sit up, and drops run long until you pull your touch back; stability is low out of the box.

Contact feels defined for a foam core, and you get clear information about where you hit the face. Power is linear: the harder you swing, the more pace you get, with no jump at medium swing speeds. It is loud and boomy, and it carries a lifetime warranty.

Back after 3 weeks away. The feel changes depending on how hard you hit it, and not subtly: soft shots give, then drives and overheads come off crisp and firm. Drops land in the kitchen and stay there, while punch volleys are the most…let’s go with… restrained part of it. The Standard shape carries the higher twist weight of the 2, so off-center contact stays forgiving and it is the easier one to start on. Selkirk claims 3 times the longevity on InfiniGrit and my own measurements do not support that, but it is USAP approved, so you can play it anywhere.

Gen 3 with a foam channel around a polypropylene core, so the crispness of honeycomb contact survives. It gets more pace on drives than a swing weight this light usually gives up. Dual certified USAP and UPA-A.

The hands-free Viper Court: you step in through a padded heel collar and a midfoot strap does the tightening. The Arch Fit insole is real support for flat feet, and the Goodyear outsole holds up on gritty outdoor courts. At roughly 15 oz it is the heaviest shoe in the Viper Court line, a couple of ounces up on the lace-up Pro 2.0, and you feel that on quick direction changes.

All 5 hold a top-10 line, the first time the brand board and the line board have agreed. JOOLA sits 6th and up 15% with nothing in the top 10, because its demand splits across Perseus, Kosmos, Scorpeus and Hyperion. A brand-level cut fixes that and it is coming.

A paddle can lead the whole site and still sit 4th. That is the trade the line format makes: 3 J2CR shapes and 4 Power 2 shapes each add up past one Spitfire. Both boards run side by side now, so you can see the trade rather than take my word for the ranking.
Launch bumps decay inside 2 weeks. PAKLE’s Fuse climbed 43% on the DuraSpin launch, gave 28% back this week, and landed lower than where it started. I flagged a durability problem with that surface on July 20, and I stand by it.

The Spitfire is buyable as of this morning, and the full review lands with it, so a month of research finally turns into a decision. Next week I expect the Ronbus Tenon on the board and a real fight for the top line.
New this issue: every line now shows the variants counted into it, and there is a separate single-paddle list underneath. That came from a reader question I could not answer cleanly, which is usually the sign a format needs to change. Tell me if it helps. I read every reply.
