‘Absolute Catwoman’ claws to top of comic shop’s sales list for June

The ‘Absolute’ edition of Catwoman starring in her own series was enough to let the character warmly curl up at the top of the comics sales list for June.

The following is a look back at in-store sales at Speeding Bullet Comics in Norman, OK, for June 2026.

The top seller for the month is “Absolute Catwoman” #1, the debut of her miniseries. She’s followed closely at No. 2 by “MASK” #1, as Skybound, an Image Comics imprint, expands its Energon Universe with another series based on a toy line.

Dropping from No. 1 to No. 3 is issue #21 of “Absolute Batman.” It’s followed by the second issue of “Absolute Green Arrow” #2 at No. 4, dropping from No. 2. The first issue of “Absolute Green Arrow” actually repeats on the list, hitting No. 14. “Absolute Superman” #20 drops to No. 9 this month from No. 5 last month.

Issue #10 of Matt Fraction’s “Batman” drops from the No. 4 to the No. 5 slot. The Jeph Loeb/Jim Lee “Batman” #163, concluding the first section of “Hush 2,” lands at No. 8 after a delay.

Marvel’s top finisher of the month is the first issue of the “Avengers: Armageddon” crossover, landing at No. 6. “Daredevil” #3 sneaks up from No. 8 to No. 7.

Image’s next placement is held by “Invincible Universe: Battle Beast” #10 at No. 10, down from No. 7 last month.

Image lands 5 in the top 25, up from 3 last month. The next three land all in a row: “G.I. Joe,” “Rook: Exodus” and “Transformers” at 18, 19 and 20.

Dynamite’s top comic on the list is again “Ben 10,” with the second issue taking the #11 spot, down from #3 for the debut issue.

DC manages one more “Absolute” on the chart, “Absolute Wonder Woman” #21 at No. 12. Also charting for DC in the top 25 are “Lobo” #4 at No. 13, “Zatanna” #3 at No. 14, “Fury of Firestorm” #3 at No. 17, “Supergirl” #14 at 21, “Deadman” #1 at No. 23, and “Barbara Gordon: Breakout” #2 at No. 24.

“Amazing Spider-Man” continues its trend of charting twice, with #31 at No. 16 and #30 at No. 25. These are drops from last month’s Nos. 15 and 22. “Black Cat” #11 drops a spot to land at No. 22. This gives Marvel five slots, down from six in May.

With its positioning as the July book club selection, “Absolute Batman Vol. 1: The Zoo” returns to the No. 1 spot in graphic novel sales.

At No. 2 is the collection of the current “Batman” series written by Matt Fraction, “Batman Vol. 1: Daylight.”

“Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” Compact Comics edition held onto top 10 positioning with the film releasing in June, dropping from No. 2 to No. 4. Three more “compact comics” editions from DC made the top 10: at No. 3, “Batman: Under the Red Hood”; at No. 9, “Gotham Central,” and at No. 10, “Watchmen.”

DC’s Absolute line also took slots 5-7, with “Absolute Green Lantern” Vol. 2, “Absolute Superman” Vol. 1, and “Absolute Wonder Woman” Vol. 1. “Absolute Superman” is repeating at the No. 6 spot.

The non-DC title making the list was “Amazing Spider-Man Epic Collection: Nothing Stops the Juggernaut,” at No. 8 from Marvel.

Meanwhile, what do back issue sales tell us about the comics market? Some darker themes led the way in June, and other-media interest continued to help move back issues. It’s a more egalitarian list than some months, with four Marvel, three from DC, two from Image and one from Dark Horse.

The top title is Marvel’s “Daredevil,” up from No. 2 in May to top the June chart. The “Daredevil: Born Again” streaming series continues to drive interest in “Daredevil” back issues.

At No. 2, Mike Mignola’s “B.P.R.D.” marks Dark Horse’s entry into the list. Despite the relative box office failure of “The Crooked Man,” the film did make some noise in the streaming market in 2025, and “Giant Robot Hellboy Returns” #1 is slated for release in July. So there’s still interest in the characters and world.

“Uncanny X-Men” lands at No. 3, up from No. 9 last month. This and “Classic X-Men” at No. 9 might have been influenced from the hype leading up to the second season of “X-Men ‘97”

“Iron Man” drops from No. 3 to No. 4. The successful 2026 reboot seems to be pushing interest in previous stories of Tony Stark.

At No. 5, there’s more supernatural shenanigans, with DC’s “The Spectre” the top series from that company.

No. 6 is “Supergirl,” benefiting from a movie release and up from No. 8.

With an HBO show on the horizon, “Green Lantern” gets a nod at No. 7.

The late Sam Kieth continues to draw fans, as “The Maxx” from Image takes the No. 8 spot. Another Image title closes out the list, Image’s “Transformers” at No. 10.
