How I pivoted into the fashion tech industry with no fashion OR tech experience

One of the questions I get asked super often is: “How do I get into fashion tech if I don’t have a fashion background?”

The good news is that you probably don’t need one. When I started working in the industry, I had neither a fashion nor a technology background.

I studied law at university, with zero intention actually wanting to be a lawyer, oops). I actually dreamed of working in international relations at the UN. I did intern at the the International Criminal Court in the Netherlands, but that was as far as my dream got there because it’s so damn hard to get a permanent position at a big international organisation.
