If you’re not moving forward, you’re not necessarily moving backwards or standing still. Sometimes it’s a sideways motion that’s preparing you for a jump.
And sometimes, you just need a break. Take it and don’t allow shame to takeover, thinking there’s something wrong with you for demanding rest.

We are the sum of our interactions.
Every interaction is a chance to create value for others—and receive it.

Some moments in life remind you of why the struggles are necessary and make sense; they make the little wins in life so much sweeter.
Notice those moments.
Donna Barnes on change:
“Nothing changes if nothing changes.”
Brené Brown on being yourself:
“Burnout happens when you ignore who you are for too long.”
Jordan Peterson on being the best version of yourself:
“You owe it to yourself to become everything you’re capable of becoming.”
When you’re stuck making a decision - stop for a minute.
Why are you “stuck”? What does “stuck” even look like?
You’re just delaying the decision. You’re deciding to not make a decision.
There’s often an underlying reason behind that.
Are you not making the decision because:
Making a decision actually means you have to face something you’re doubting your ability to handle it?
You’re worried about how other people might see/perceive you?
You’re placing too much weight on what people might think?
You’re trying to perfect things and you’re procrastinating in hopes that time will magically get everything to work?
I’m dealing with a decision of the sorts right now about how to proceed with my podcast since I’m making some shifts and changes with its setup and direction and I’ve been delaying that decision. I believe it’s a combination of both 1 and 4 - and a little of 3. I know what needs to be done and I just need to decide and move forward but I’m holding myself back. So this reflection is one I’m doing for myself and I hope it helps you too.
I’m going to grab a pen and ask myself this (you can just open a note on your phone):
Why am I not deciding? What am I scared of?
What’s the worst than can happen if I make the decision?
And what am I losing by not deciding?
I’ll be honest with myself - and so should you.
Then decide and start taking the steps needed.
This one’s for any of you who wants to get better at public speaking. Check it out here.
Also, I’m a big fan of Simon Sinek’s public speaking and he gives a short course about it. Ironically, things actually started for him BECAUSE of the TED Talk he gave over 15 years ago - it’s the second most watched TED talk of all time. The course is the Art of Presenting, you can find it here if you’re interested.
On the podcast topic I mentioned above, I’m currently exploring a couple of different options for the studio and recording setups so I’m dealing with that right now and then I’ll be pushing episodes out again weekly.
Until then, if you have anyone you would like to see in an episode, just reply back to the newsletter or leave a comment with their name and why you think they’d be a good fit and I’ll check them out!
You can check the existing episodes below, I’d love it if you could subscribe and support me there. Thank you ♥️
I also happen to coach people. I learned from one of the world’s best, Robert Ellis.
Would you like to have a coaching conversation? Sometimes all it takes is a 30-minute deep conversation to point you in the right direction. Or give you a little nudge. Maybe you just need someone to hear you out. I’m here for you.
