Over the past month we’ve taken a look back of people who would likely belong to a group considered to be the lesser of the singing cowboys. They were a product of their time, shoehorned into a formula that was popular at the time. And it did bring them success as well as a kind of niche stardom.

They were also accomplished singers who enjoyed successful singing and recording careers. In many ways it was their music that has outshone and outlasted their screen careers. But we exist to look back at the films so let’s look back at three from Rex Allen, Eddie Dean and Monte Hale.

Rex Allen was known as ‘The Arizona Cowboy’ partly because that is where he hailed from, so what better film to look back at than where it all started.

Of all the singing cowboys everyone considered Eddie Dean to have the best singing voice. So lets take a look at how he performed on screen next.
