As much as I hesitate to use the words ‘inflamed’ and ‘sheath’ adjacently in such delightful company as yours, the specialist tells me there’s no other way to accurately describe what is going on under the skin behind and around my left knee. The inner of the three hamstrings we possess in each leg has, in my case, a sheath that has become inflamed. Some days I can - with care - walk relatively normally1; others I tackle the stairs leading with my right leg only, bringing the left up to join it. It’s boring: walking is very much at my core, and a few months of this, and counting, makes Jack a dull boy.
I have been in Cornwall. It has been a watery, aromatic few days.
Today - a few days of icepacking, massaging and with an unfetching knee support in place after not being able to get out of the car without wincing - I managed a short, flat, coastal loop just south of Mullion. Click below to see it better.
