Mariella Candela Amitai · 🧘‍♀️ Zen and the Novel

Almost three weeks, in this hidden corner of the world and it’s been good for the soul. Being in touch with your roots is like putting your hands into the soil. Grounding, healing. I have worked a lot, done a lot but I was rested, refreshed, nourished by the proximity to a familiarity that now I can recognize and miss more often than not. Being here, makes it impossible to ignore the roots, their calling and what it means to me. I have spent most of my life with the sole aspiration of getting lost in the world. And boy I have been lost. I have walked streets so far away spiritually and geographically only to find myself back here and think, tomorrow, if I wanted to, I could come back. And it would not be impossible or unbearable. Sometimes, roots have their way to find you, grab you. Sometimes they’re cage and sometimes they’re freedom.
