I was afraid this would happen, but in my slothfulness to write this out, the intensity of this obsession has waned for me slightly, and, as always does happen, even more has happened!
*You can find part 1 here in which I explain my qualifications and interest to even be broaching these topics together as one (Summer House drama on Bravo + Lindy West’s memoir nightmare scenario + Liz Gilbert’s confessions in her book).
Ciara gave her first interview with Glamour magazine (10/10 to her and Hunter Harris, the author/interviewer who is awesome all on her own in all things, too).
Those goons were seen out and about and West began trying to gaslight us all before the reunion films but we SEE YOU SIR and don’t want you to be visible anymore.
Idk if anything else has happened for Lindy and Liz, but ironically, the next subject of my focus, Lena, has fancast the Summer House drama.
*watch out I rolled my eyes so hard they’re running down the street without me.
*idk what this meme means as I haven’t seen girls but maybe this is the thing that’ll get me to do it, idk.
Regardless of all that, welcome back to the conversation pit of my corner of the internet.
Now that you’ve caught up with part 1, I’d also implore you to read Ciara’s cover interview in Glamour. She is beauty and grace, indeed.
Anyway. There’s a few things I want to state right up top:
In this house we are team Ciara. Nasty devious “friends” and apologists of such behaviors will not be tolerated. Narcissistic gaslighting angry fuckboi losers with no jobs and no ambition that don’t know how to get dressed or form a sentence or take accountability are also not welcome.
I want the best things for Lindy West and ultimately, if says she is happy right now, I will accept that and trust her on it. With skepticism, but a watchful friendly type of protective skepticism. I feel of the mind as her bff Sam Irby who says she is supportive for now and also ready to chop the body as soon as Lindy gives the word, if necessary (yes she said that).
I am not sure I have nice things to say about Liz Gilbert’s part of this conversation, but I will acknowledge that her experience is her experience alone. As such, the following is only my interpretation of meaning, issues, etc, and as such, reflects my projections and my experiences interpreting what she has voluntarily chosen to share with us all.
This is an extremely post, even for me, and doesn’t even really touch on the bisexuality or interpersonal dynamics and personal accounting one does when going from a cis-het straight thinking woman to one in a throuple (as Lindy does, and which I a formerly straight married woman did as I’ve now embraced being a bisexual). Maybe I’ll cover that part some other time, it’s worth discussing.
Let’s begin with Lindy’s situation.
