Remember to grab your free books at the end!

I’ve been a little more absent than I’d intended these last 2.5 months—almost 3—but I am almost through this part of the cycle. About 6 more weeks, and I’ll be on a different track, which will hopefully provide me more free time, more energy, more ability to focus on what matters.

If you are a recent subscriber and your freebie download link didn’t work, please email me again. I have the fix, and will send it to you!

Here are a few highlights from the last month: A birthday tattoo, an outing, appreciating Florida, and one of the two kittens I am currently in possession of in my home, much to my own surprise. How does one “accidentally” come into possession of cats, you say? Well.

The strain of these last couple months has kept me out of my office, not for lack of inspiration or desire, but lack of stamina and free time. But in six more weeks, I’ll be on better footing, so join that countdown with me.

I have so many projects calling me, but my immediate priorities are finishing For Miles (two-three chapters left—only two plotted, but sitting apart from it for these last few weeks has given me insight) so I can post the rest of the episodes for you, and then working with Author TK Eldridge on the sequel to Breaking News. Following that, I have another serial and a full UF/PNR crossover series (more UF than romance, I will warn you) that I am eager to dive into.

One of the great joys of these last few months is to find that the words are still there, waiting for me. I just need to pivot to make room for them.

Thanks for coming on this ride with me.

XOXO,

Mariah

Clementine:
I never expected to get caught—literally—by a six-foot-something lumberjack named Vaughn Ridgeway. I was just trying to protect an old-growth pine tree, chaining myself in protest, when he came striding out of the woods with that brooding scowl and an axe slung over his shoulder. He thought I was some clueless hippie causing trouble for his family’s logging business. Sure, I might’ve been wearing tie-dye leggings, but I wasn’t about to be scared off by a stubborn man with shoulders as wide as the mountain. Then he lifted me—chains and all—and hauled me away like I weighed nothing. My cheeks burned with anger…and maybe a little something else. Turns out the biggest danger on this mountain wasn’t me losing the protest—it was me losing my heart.

Vaughn:
Cutting trees was just another day’s work for me—until I found Clementine Fox chained to one of them. She looked like she belonged on a festival stage, singing songs of peace and love, not messing with my logging site. But from the moment I carried her away, protesting at the top of her lungs, I realized she was trouble in more ways than one. She was mouthy, optimistic, and more sunshine than I knew how to handle. And I wanted her—badly. One glance into those mischievous eyes, and I felt my grip on solitude slipping. She challenged everything I believed, driving me insane even as she lit a spark I hadn’t felt in years. Now if only I could figure out how to keep my business afloat…and her in my arms.

Caught by the Lumberjack is a short, steamy romcom that proves sometimes a tree-hugging wildflower and a grumpy flannel-clad hero can grow the hottest passion—right in the heart of Montana’s rugged wilderness.

There will be a second book upcoming this week, y’all, so check back later!
