It’s a beautiful day here in farm country! Alas, tomorrow looks like a washout. BOO! Perhaps the Birthday weather gods will shine on me yet. All appropriate digits remain duly crossed.
A few inappropriate digits may also be crossed. I’m not tellin’.
You, dear friend, can finally exhale as Birthday Week has reached its crescendo here on The Lady Party. Tomorrow is the big day and I won’t be posting. Phew!

I’m a little late to the game on this, but Mr. Potter and I have been thoroughly enjoying Guy Ritchie’s Young Sherlock. Witty, fast paced, entertaining, well crafted, with a stellar cast…and the soundtrack is chef’s kiss!
Worth a binge, IMHO.
My pale skin doesn’t do tan, unless you count freckles as tiny tans in which case I’m an overachiever. My mother covered me from head to toe as a kid at the beach and I still managed to get sunburned somewhere. Therefore, skin cancer is an ongoing concern. Moderna and Merck are in promising late stage development of a new MRNA based vaccine for the prevention of repeat melanoma. This same personalized to each patient approach can be designed to target a variety of cancers. Game changing!

How charming is this painting by French artist Amélie Legrand de Saint-Aubin? I mean, that BOW! She lived to the age of 80, remaining unmarried, painting in her studio at the Sorbonne along with other notable women of her time. The post-French Revolution period allowed an expanse of opportunity for female artists and she was one of the most prolific and successful of the group.

If you’ve not yet watched The Gilded Age documentary from a few years back on PBS American Experience, now is the perfect time. Lots of insight into fascinating historical parallels and the considerable conundrums they presented then and present again now.
All that glitters is not so golden after all.

With that in mind, I’m off to bake my birthday cake and figure out some alternative indoor plans for a soggy Saturday Madge-abration with Mr. Potter. Rain or shine, we’ll find some little bits of joy.
