Dear Rosedale Community,
Being an ANC Commissioner is often a series of hoping for DC government to listen to me, but I wanted to share a big win. After many phone calls, testifying to DC Council, and more emails then I can count, the lights on the Rosedale Recreation Center Football field are fixed! Thank you to Latisha Atkins from the Mayor’s office, Councilmember Felder’s office, and DGS for getting this over the finish line. For the brave of heart, see the pictures and videos of the repair. I also want to thank Pastor Rev. Michael C. Bell and Peace Baptist Church for a robust conversation on how we can address violence through community efforts. Join the Rosedale Library Thursday, July 22nd at 7:00pm at their summer meeting virtually here to learn more about Rosedale Library and how to get involved with Rosedale Library Friends. At this meeting, they will discuss the future of the Rosedale Library, complications and consequences of this year's budget, fundraising opportunities, membership development, and more.
The DC Council is debating the RFK stadium deal. You can sign up to testify here. This is the time to share our community opinions, wants, and concerns. There also will be on July 17, 6pm a RFK Listening Session with At-Large CM Robert White and Ward 3 CM Matt Frumin at St. Benedict's sponsored by Commissioner Payne.
