Most things I read on the internet disappear almost immediately.
I remember opening them. I remember thinking they were interesting. A day later, I could not tell you what they said.
Then, every now and then, you find something that makes you stop scrolling and sit with it for a while.
This was one of those.
Here is a small test. Turn on a light. Fill a glass of water. Put on a song.
Now try explaining that sequence to someone from 1880.
The light alone would have been enough to make their evening. Water arriving clean through a pipe in the wall would need some convincing. And the idea that you could choose almost any song ever recorded, from a little box in your living room, would sound completely absurd.
Ordinary Abundance made me look around the house a little differently.
Open it on a desktop if you can. It is one of those pieces where the format is part of the experience, and it is worth taking your time with.
