We’ve dropped an extra episode into your feed today - Thursday - and I wanted to explain why.
There’s a trial happening in the US at the moment that has captured the attention of so many women in a way that’s pretty extraordinary.
Lindsay Clancy is on trial for the murder of her three children.
I’ve spent weeks trying to avoid this story but this week, it became impossible to ignore because it spread from the news cycle into several of my group chats, in conversations I overhead in the office kitchen and in the Outloud DMs, with Outlouders asking us to talk about it on the show.
Women of every generation, all talking about the same thing.

Not our regular Wednesday one that dropped as usual, but a separate episode because this story deserved room to breathe, and because you deserved the choice about whether to listen or not.
I won’t go into the details of this case here in your inbox but to help unpack why this case seems to be running two parallel trials - one in a courtroom and one on social media and they’re very very different.
On this episode, we wanted to unpack why. Why this case, out of all the tragic ones, has landed so specifically on women. Joining me in the studio are journalists Tamsin Rose and Georgie Page from our Quicky news team, that show has been covering it closely.
