Hi, Friend.
First, some gratitude: Thank you for bearing with me through the madness of the past few months. It struck me today that in the past year I’ve released and toured on three different books: Dear Writer, The People’s Project (coedited with my dear friend Saeed Jones), and A Suit or a Suitcase. Add in working on new projects, hosting The Slowdown, and parenting two busy teenagers, and it’s easy to see why life feels so full. Beautiful and full. I wouldn’t mind an eighth day of the week.
Now that I’m home from my events for A Suit or a Suitcase, I’m also reflecting on how much fun that was, getting to meet readers in various cities. The conversations we had—both during the events themselves and at the signing tables afterwards—were invigorating and deeply moving. We laughed a lot. Sometimes we cried. I came home from book tour buoyed and inspired, with new ideas to carry into my own writing (and living)—so why not keep it going now that I’m home? It’s been a while since I opened up an AMA for supporting subscribers, so here we go!
