The Narrative I’m Rewriting

Magali Mathieu · Poured With Love ☕️

Good morning my loves,

Writing to you from a slow Monday morning, I’ve got my decaf almond latte with a dash of cinnamon on top.

I had a beautiful weekend which started off with a Dance Party with girlfriends put on by The Hivery. We had a blast! There’s something special about having mocktails, girls, amazing music, sparkles and a beautiful venue that is just such a VIBE, it also included my very first “official” tarot reading, lots of BBQs and time with friends and in the sun.

As I sat here this morning, I wasn’t sure what I would write about. There are things I’m moving through that I’m not yet fully ready to share. Yet sharing anything “surface level” on this platform doesn’t feel aligned either.

I guess what’s ringing true to me right now, is a big rewriting of a narrative. One that involves truly trusting myself. I found myself writing my book yesterday afternoon and a lot of the puzzle pieces are starting to mold together.

What started as a manuscript healing from my burnout, putting pen to paper as a way to relieve the pain, is slowly starting to show me that this book is shaping out to be. It’s becoming a guide to finding our way back to self-trust.

Because when I look back, I can see that burnout wasn’t only about how much I was working. It wasn’t only about the startup, the pressure, the endless to-do lists or how much responsibility I was carrying.

Somewhere along the way, I had stopped listening to myself.

I had learned to override the whispers of my body. To question my instincts. To look outside of myself for the “right” answers. To keep going when something inside of me was begging me to stop.

Healing, then, hasn’t only been about learning how to rest.

It has been about learning how to hear myself again.

As I was writing, I found myself digging up some of my old recordings. There was a moment during my entrepreneurial journey as a wellness coach when I was building a library of meditations and yoga classes.

Funnily enough, I keep hearing from people lately that I have such a calming voice. I wonder if the universe is trying to show me a way to tap into those recordings again.

For now, I wanted to share one of them with you.

It’s a five-minute practice to help you connect with self-trust:

0:00

-5:47

I know that when I trust myself, I’m also able to trust the people around me. I feel supported, and I become so much more open to receiving. I can loosen my grip on the doubts and tune into the frequency of my intuition, like turning the dial on an old radio until the right channel suddenly clicks into place.

I haven’t mastered it.

It’s still a work in progress, and perhaps the most important work I’ve ever done.

My word of the in 2019 was TRUST.

A big part of the work I now do with women who are starting and scaling their businesses is helping them tap into their own sense of self-trust. Because it’s from that place that we find clarity. It’s from that place that we gain the courage to face our fears, take the next step and continue showing up for our dreams, even when our wounds are still aching.

Self-trust doesn’t mean never doubting yourself.

It doesn’t mean having every answer, making every decision perfectly or knowing exactly how the story will unfold.

Maybe it simply means knowing that, whatever happens, you won’t abandon yourself.

That you’ll listen when your body whispers. That you’ll honor what feels true, even when it doesn’t make sense to everyone else. That you’ll trust yourself enough to take one step and then listen again before taking the next.

Perhaps that’s the narrative I’m rewriting right now.

Not the story of a woman who finally figured it all out, but the story of a woman learning, little by little, to come home to herself.

So, as you move into this new week, I’ll leave you with this:

Where in your life are you being invited to trust yourself a little more?

With love,
Magali
