so lonely

Deep in the trenches of finishing some songs, I dug out this beat (are you sensing a theme here) and thought it was worth developing. I ended up writing this slightly tongue-in-cheek song about missing someone — I was waiting for Jack to get home from his trip this weekend and I guess the lack of sleep was getting to me. Do you find that once you’re used to sleeping next to someone, you struggle to sleep without them? We’ve evolved into this rhythm every night and when he’s away I can’t deal. I have to listen to a sleepcast to fill the space, I miss him!!

I tend not to write about the present moment so this is a rare one from me. I’m quite reflective in songs, I didn’t write for over five years so there’s a lot to draw from, a lot I still want to say. It was fun to remind myself that it’s nice to write about the now too.
