The dream sounds clean. Nothing’s CEO Carl Pei says AI agents will replace your apps soon, just tell your phone what you want and it handles the rest. No more clicking, no more tabs, no more friction. Your digital life, automated by a chatbot that understands context. It’s the frictionless future we were promised.
The nightmare is already here. Gary Marcus dismantles AI coding agents as security disasters, describing them as lazy intoxicated robots that write code they don’t understand and can’t verify. These agents are being deployed to handle sensitive tasks with zero oversight, creating vulnerabilities faster than anyone can patch them. The revolution has a bug count.
The reality check lands somewhere in between. Marcus also notes in Fortune that the job apocalypse isn’t materializing because the tech remains jagged and overhyped. CEOs announce layoffs citing AI productivity gains while the actual tools struggle with basic tasks. The threat isn’t mass unemployment. It’s mass overconfidence in systems that can’t handle the job. 🤖💼🔓
The dream: Nothing CEO Carl Pei says AI agents will replace your apps in near future
The nightmare: LLMs + Coding Agents = Security Nightmare
The reality: 9 reasons AI isn’t going to take your job (yet)
Wired exposed Palantir demos where AI chatbots generate full war plans, because outsourcing violence to algorithms is apparently the next step. It’s Project Maven, originally started by Google, providing the analysis layer. The chatbot sits on top.
Blackbird.ai warns about the AI attachment economy, where bad actors weaponize emotional bonds to spread narratives that stick harder than facts.
Finally, for something less dystopian, Opper.ai lets multiple models debate your life questions instead of dictating answers. Outsource your indecision before it outsources you. 🤖⚖️
Meme of the month:
Scammers are sending fake alerts claiming your email platform will auto-add a "Support ICE" button, tricking you into logging into a phishing site to opt out. It's political panic as a service. On the flip side, Weir.ai lets you monitor and control where your likeness appears online, turning the tables on identity theft. Check your sender settings, and maybe let a robot watch your back for once. 🔒
Sick of rising prices? Stream free indie films and docs through Kanopy with your library card. Then, maybe stop forwarding raw AI output like it's gospel. The Sloppypasta guide explains why. Plus more digital survival tools live on the Lökwest Resources page. Bookmark it. 🎬📝🔖

The Norwegians made a hilarious video calling out why every app and website keeps getting worse, and honestly they nailed it. Someone finally said the quiet part out loud about “enshittification” without making you read a 50-page report. 😂
The Springfield Oracle tracks every Simpsons prediction ever made and keeps a running tally on what's come true (yes, including that one). Lastly, there's Anoun, a new dead-simple noun guessing game that's the perfect distraction when the news cycle has you ready to throw your phone. Go ahead. Your productivity was overrated anyway. 😎
