I Miss Her
I’ve been missing the old me lately. The woman I was before kids.
Sooo…I wanted to write about her.
She was sexy, and honestly didn’t know it. I was always critiquing my image. She was toned, loved to walk to work, listened to psychology books along the way. She loved her job it was challenging and rewarding at the same time.
She was growing. Evolving into someone she loved.
She would get her nails done just because. She wore heels and actually enjoyed wearing them. She had friends, met up for Sunday brunch.
She’d sit by the pool in the mornings and get some Vitamin D. She loved doing her makeup, it was a form of art. She was creative, loved to paint. She would dance and sing even though she looked silly.
Her relationship was fun, sexy, kinky. We had soft and slow love-making. We went on adventures when we were bored. We got day drunk just for fun.
We skinny-dipped because why not.
Now I’m trying to find ways to bring her into motherhood.
I want to still feel sexy.
The other day I was going through my closet and found this adorable crop top, and instantly thought: well, now that I’m a mom, I won’t be wearing that.
I can still get my nails done just because. I can still wear the heels. I can still paint. I can still dance around looking silly. I can still be soft and slow with my husband. I can still crave adventure when I’m bored.
I can still wear the crop top.
