In getting everything back up and making noise, we changed the original RSS URL. Most podcast platforms should be updated, but if you notice you’re not getting anything new in your platform of choice please let us know (either email, or problem report in the discord).
Finally — re: podcast platforms. Everyone’s favorite and the ever charitable-to-artists platform sp*t*fy has removed some episodes because their bot seems to think the episodes are music (and apparently they don’t allow you to upload music in podcast form, which is something else to ponder entirely). Lots of opinions to be had about that. But FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION, the offending episodes are The Sea, Rebel Rebel, Frogs, mindferk and sleepwell. So … respect to those episodes. In particular Frogs, which is actually a 30 second recording of some frogs. I can only assume the bot just finished reading The Great Animal Orchestra, excited to see what happens when it gets to john cage.

a brief outline of the general vibe of LLtNS since our last newsletter 3 years ago.
Since our last letter in April of 2020 there were 14 new episodes added. That includes stuff added back in 2020 and 2021 before the two-years-of-dead-air AND a few new-new sounds added in the last couple of weeks.
Not really a surprise but there are a bunch of pandemic episodes, Outrage Blackout, The Weightless Place and, perhaps the most deranged (complimentary) being Fish by Cristina Marras which is a relentlessly distracted but incredible precise monologue about a nightmare about fish and covid and, who knows what else. If that was something you enjoyed, Cristina also contributed some other monologues including this one about smells and this one about language. If you’re out to spend an afternoon with these, maybe break them up with a bit of Frogs (which, as we already established, is music) and Not for Nothing (which, according to the bot, might not be music) and screaming at the ocean.
Beyond covid there were also a couple of very personal documentaries contributed including a memoir and history of Vodou by WaWaWa Diaspora Centre called VODOU ROOTS: A Love Story Musical. And an “anti-memoir” by Jenn Stanley about called ab aeterno.
One day I’ll write something about the different documentary forms that have popped up in the feed.
Finally - we’ve had a couple of new-new-new contributions since the feed finally came back online earlier this year. Including a totally compelling exercise in memory, fidelity and a fuzzy sort of nostalgia in Call Back Carousel Episode 4 - Torquay, 1969 by Mark Vernon, which is composed of slideshow commentary from the 1960s and 70s. Two very short and very weird episodes of something by Matters of Truth “The Circles” and “The Change”, very curious if there will be an episode 3. And Voies Urbaines: Rue Mespoul by Mathias Guilbaud, an incredibly filling soundscape composed around a construction site.
