Jamaica Appeal Update

Carol (Mommy) has finally arrived here in Houston. (We didn’t use appeal funds to fly her out!) We’ve been trying to get her out of Montego Bay for a while. But she had to oversee the arrival of several of your solar generators and get them to the right people.

And, we just found out (she’s so modest), she has been distributing some of the funds to very needy people, just as I had wished. For example there’s Jennifer, who is blind, and there’s an entire family whose house was totally destroyed, no roof...

I haven’t posted an update for a while. It’s been the end of term, and I’m also a bit despairing about the appeal. We seemed to have stalled for about a week. Then this tragedy happened: my cousin Raphael, a Jamaican man who lives in the USA, just died. His mom is as you can imagine overcome with grief.

But on that same day, the appeal started up again, and in the last couple of days it’s raised about $500. We are SO CLOSE to our goal of $20,000! PLEASE can you share this appeal? I don’t know what to do much anymore, because I’m out of ideas about whom to contact.

And honestly it’s STILL so bad there. Westgreen and Catherine Hall (the non-touristy parts of Montego Bay) where my family lives, STILL have NO water to speak of and NO power at all.
