Summer came early to Queensland, and being 38 weeks pregnant the days have been slow and long. I’ve been living in swimmers and submerging myself in the pool at any chance I can, bookending my days with ocean swims.
Thankfully it’s mango season so I have been living off a steady diet of juicy mango, coconut water (current obsession is the chocolate flavour for a refreshing treat) and homemade yoghurt pops that I’ve been making with an icypole mould I took from my 2-year-old niece.
With a Christmas baby due, I’ve been slowly ticking off any list of last minute home updates, while tying up the loose ends to a very exciting new project I’ve been working on with my creative partner Vanessa, dreamt up while we were holidaying during Euro Summer earlier this year. We can’t wait to share more of the process and the products with you in the new year! Growing a baby while growing a new business has been the most creatively rewarding and inspired year and I can’t wait to experience the fruits of it all in 2026.

Silky Roman Blinds for the Master Suite (aka baby prep)
I have always loved waking up with the sun, however with a baby due any day now we’re needing to adapt our home for the changes to come. We opted to add block out roman blinds to our master in a silky look cream fabric from Unique Fabrics which turned out to be the most perfect match with our rendered walls, they blend seamlessly and feel very luxe. We installed them behind our drapes (fabric from Schumacher here) so we have the options of having filtered light or going full block out for midday naps.
Outdoor Upholstery
We finally got around to adding outdoor upholstery to our garden bench. Nothing like a garden baby blessing to be a motivator! I went for a textured terracotta outdoor fabric from Mokum and the yellow and ecru stripe cushions were offcuts leftover from a project that I added a terracotta fringe from Trimtex to (a well priced outdoor trim option if you’re looking for one). The umbrella is from Merci Maison and our outdoor table and stools are vintage sourced from an antique dealer in Paris’ Saint Ouen market.
We find ourselves spending so much more time out here now and can’t wait to spend the summer entertaining again in this space.

Back Deck Folding Sail
We never finished the roof of our back deck at home as we wanted to maximise the light into our upper story. As our roof is much higher than our roof line you can’t see it from inside so Jack temporarily added clear corrugated roof sheets. While the extra light is so beautiful during winter, in summer it becomes a little too much and very hot! Since being home we have been exploring ideas and have landed on a folding shade sail inspired by this one we saw while holidaying at Hotel Corazon earlier this year.

I love a Christmas tradition and my favourite way to kick start the season is with a festive dinner party. This year we celebrated the first day of summer with a homemade pasta night complete with a home cooked cherry pie and freshly baked honey ginger cookies.
It doesn’t feel like Christmas without a jar of German Lebkuchen biscuits on rotation, a honey spiked take on the gingerbread biscuit. We like them with a single almond or glacé cherry popped on top. Perfection.
To Wear
A few weeks ago I picked up the perfect string bikini by Matteau, in my favourite shade of aubergine. It has a little more coverage than my usual petite cut which was needed at 37 weeks!
This handwoven sarong by Nagnata has already been on high rotation.

My pick is Rachel Donath’s new flower chair with a reupholstered cushion to add a little extra personality. I’d go with this bright jacquard patterned fabric by Pierre Frey.
A portable lamp in moss green for intimate dinner parties or backyard soirees.
No outdoor area is complete without a pair of French art deco shell umbrella stands of course!
For Inside the Home
A fresh journal for the new year is essential. I love this hand marbled leather-bound set.
A ceramic platter from Di Lunedi. Equally a beauty used as a show stopping table centre or placed on the wall for a nostalgic beach shack vibe.

A Very Aspirational Gift Guide

In my opinion, the best gifts are always the creative ones – not the ones elevated by a price tag or purchased off a gift guide (ironically), but the ones where you can feel the personal touch. Think handmade gifts, local brands, vintage finds, artisanal wares and pieces from emerging artists. Not just buying the cookie jar, but filling it with freshly baked cookies. Those little extras make a gift even more memorable.

A world without colour would make me very sad. Over the years, one of my favourite parts of design has been experimenting with colour by mixing, layering, and seeing how it changes a space or a mood. An innate instinct within me that stems from my early childhood growing up in such a colourful world.
