When Your Plan Isn’t His Plan

What if the life you planned isn’t the life God designed?
We map out every detail, chase every milestone, and cling to our timelines as if they hold the key to fulfillment. But what happens when our plans collide with His purpose? Sometimes the greatest breakthrough comes when we loosen our grip and trust the One who sees the whole picture.

I used to write poetry—
maybe I still do.
I love using imagery and colorful words,
the way my thoughts skip across a page
almost like a song
with different beats.

The river runs wild,
clear blue water swaying with the current,
and then—boom—
I start writing something inspirational.

It’s not about what we want;
it’s about what God wants.
You can’t be so laser-focused on your own plan,
that you miss the plan God has for you.
It’s not about your will—it’s about His.

So many people march through life
to the beat of their own drum,
missing out on what they were created for
because they insist on doing things their way
instead of His.

But if we obey God,
if we lean into His direction,
He will lead us where we need to go.
He will make your path straight.

Call out to Him today:
“Lord, what do You want me to do?
Where do You want me to go?”

You may have to switch gears,
take a turn you didn’t expect,
but He will not lead you astray.
Trust Him.
He knows the way.

Your plan might feel safe, but His plan is sure.
Your way might feel familiar, but His way is freedom.
Let go. Lean in. Trust Him—because the life He designed is greater than the life you imagined.
