I hope this letter finds you well. It’s finally chilly here in Tokyo, which is lovely. I don’t have a lot of news to share except a few updates on work I have been working on recently. I’ve finished the tarot, but am currently redoing the goddess card (it is not lost on me that this card has taken me three attempts to finally land it), and anticipate needing to redo a few more of the major cards unfortunately, so not quite done yet. In the meantime, here is the knight of pentacles from the back. Guts guts guts.
I really love this piece of fabric I found at an antique shop that has this star motif. Sometimes I find a textile that has already been worked on, and so when I find these pieces I try not to cover up that work. There is someone’s story here that is not my own.
The rest of this post continues inside the studio, where I share process videos, brief technical video explanations, and glimpses of life in Tokyo. It’s a quieter space and pace than Instagram.
