For the very first time, we meet twice in one week, how novel.

I warned you about my springtime excitement, so i have plenty more to share on the topic (gird your loins!).

As someone who tries to move through seasons intentionally, there’s something about the order hierarchy of cyclical moments, like storytelling for the year’s arc, that soothes my brain.

Today’s newsletter contains my early spring moodboard, little joys, a wishlist, and a really fun way to win amazing furniture.

Oh, springtime. I could sincerely wax poetic on it for hours.

We all know the vibe: Renewal. When nature and our spirits come alive again. Not sure how you all feel, but personally it ignites within me a certain fervor that energizes my bones.

My moodboard illustrates that tender, early feeling of defrosting, squinty-eyed from hibernation but spiritually stirred up.

  • Shades of greens and blues feel fresh and earthy for April.

  • Blooms, blooms, blooms, it’s what my daydreams are made of.

  • Transitional weather accessories take the form of silk scarves in punchy prints.

  • Loose layers in floaty fabrics and interesting accessories are feeling exciting.

  • Although spring is like a rebirth, i think of Mother Nature as an old soul who relishes time-honored scenes.

  • Patina that gets better with age, just like our gardens on the precipice.

Everyone’s day-to-day looks different, but the principle is the same for all: a baseline of responsibilities that keep everything in our lives running smoothly.

If autopilot is our winter default mode, spring’s return nudges us back to awareness for small, mundane pleasures. Paying attention to sounds, smells, and everything encompassing the resurgence of life, both literally and spiritually. I like to stay on high alert for those little things that make my baseline feel less like a slog.

They’re easy to miss but make everything else more meaningful, so it’s an exercise in attuned observing. Lean into your senses, heed your emotional and physical responses, bask in the moment, and watch your glee rise alongside the mercury as the earth slowly resuscitates.

I made a short list of little seasonal joys that demand nothing but presence and awareness. Would love to hear some of yours if you’d like to share them in the comment section at the end.

This time of year has a similar energy as the calendar new year. In fact, i find it to make much more sense for the “new year” to begin with spring, like in certain cultures. Seems way more logical after a long season of dormancy.

All this spring renewal talk has me itching to:

  • purge all my clutter

  • get myself organized

  • create new systems to structure my life

  • deep clean every crevice of my house

  • write to-do lists for each facet of my existence

  • clear out my entire wardrobe

  • change all the decor in every room

Inevitably, wishlists formulate. I find dreaming of new stuff when you’re sick of your same old, same old feels refreshing (albeit consumerist).

The amount of times i’ve fantasized about receiving the entire contents of these wishlists is embarrassingly excessive, but hey, a Taurean can dream — we love our material possessions as much as we are earthy.

A home brand i’ve fraternized with for a couple of wonderful years, Woven, is offering something of that ilk: create your spring wishlist on their site to WIN BIG, right on time for the season.

Below is my personal current Woven wishlist.

Make your Woven spring wishlist here for a chance to win! Entries close on April 14th.

If you have any little joys to share, seasonal or not, please leave them in a comment below. I would sincerely love to hear about what small things delight you.

See you next time to continue unfolding the spring field guide, from garden planning to outfit wearing to wishlisht dreaming and everything in between.

À bientôt,

Hélène
