Dear readers of Life Well,
Some of you know me personally.
Some of you know me as an internet person.
Some of you have been with me for years.
Some of you are new to my endeavors.
Some of you are privy to my behind-the-scenes.
Some of you have noticed my absence from the spaces i’ve shown up in for years.
Some of you probably haven’t noticed anything at all.
I know this post is probably unnecessary, as many a person has advised.
But deep in my core, i can’t move forward and pick back up where i left off, pretending like i haven’t published anything on Substack in 6 months. Or go on as though I haven’t been taking weeks away from social media, the crux of my professional life thus far.
Not a justification, just an explanation.
Because my online presence is inextricably tied to who i am and the life i lead, and my brain has a hard time with gaps in the timeline.
Because this Substack, my years-in-the-works (read: rumination) passion project that i launched with much gusto and enthusiasm, has only become a victim of my horribly embarrassing follow-through record.
Because paralysis and overwhelm were exacerbated by a series of personal challenges, and i’ve allowed it to take over my life.
I’ve been sucking at work all year, but i’ve also been sucking at existing. As someone who operates mostly from a place of feeling and intuition, it was difficult for me to show up insincerely.
With a little distance, a newfound understanding, my deep desire to fix the situation, the right tools and proper support, it makes me nearly giddy to feel like i’m back in the saddle.
So with that, thank you for being here. Thank you for sticking around. Thank you for your check-ins and your engagement. Thank you for being a willing recipient of my creativity.
I have so many ideas, so much to say, so many stories to tell, so many tips and musings and follies to share, and my cup overfloweth at the thought of offering them to you.
À bientôt,
Hélène
