For 13 years I worked what I called my “accidental career.” It was misaligned with who I was in so many ways that it felt absurd, yet I stayed for a paycheck.

The longer I stayed, the more disconnected I felt from myself.

I was embarrassed of the “lame” position I found myself in.

I had big dreams, but they felt so far away that I couldn’t even say them anymore. I started to feel like I wasn’t “good enough” to do the things my heart truly desired.

What I’ve come to understand is that when your heart truly desires something (not the fleeting kind of want, but a TRUE desire from deep within), it’s because there’s something there for you. It’s touching that eternal part of you that says “yes” and you feel called to it. I’ve always loved the Rumi quote “What you seek is seeking you.”

Your intuition is your connection to the divine, it knows what direction you’re meant to go in, but often the world dulls those senses. You spend enough time in a place that’s not really right for you and you stop getting the messages. You feel them, but they’re so far from your reality that they hurt, so you numb them out and push them away. You feel like you should be grateful for what you have, even though there is something bigger trying to get your attention.

Your divine design, as Florence Scovel Shinn called it, something you are to do which no one else can do.

This doesn’t necessarily mean your profession, though for many it will.

I recently heard an example that works well with this idea.

The body is a divine design. The hand was designed to be a hand, not a nose.
A nose wasn’t designed to be an eye.

Every part is important and needed.

If a foot wanted to be a hand, it wouldn’t work right.

It wouldn’t be able to function the way the hand does, but also, the body would then be missing a foot. To work properly the body needs every part.

There is something you are meant to do which no one else can do.

If you pay attention to your intuition, following the whisperings of your heart, you will naturally begin to shift into your divine design. The thing that is meant for you. The more you fill that space, the less you will long to fill a space that was never meant for you and the more you will see the divine design to it all.

In the Living the Game of Life community this week we looked at Chapter 2 of The Game of Life and How To Play It, “The Law of Prosperity.”

We spent some time clarifying what Prosperity is (and isn’t). We journaled about preparing for prosperity, where I had a few of my own moments of clarity. We talked about being tested and that sometimes things look worse before they look better. And we shared some ideas about how to hold the vision of what you want, even when it’s not there right now.

Our Monday evening call is quickly becoming one of my favorite parts of the week. We have a nice core that is showing up every week and we have new people joining us every week. I love being live and seeing everyone’s faces. I love hearing the insights our members are sharing, and I love the questions that come through this call. Most of all, I love sharing this book with others.

This week we’re reading Chapter 3 “The Power of the Spoken Word”.

We’ll have our conversation about it next Monday.

We welcome new members anytime.
Replays are available in the community.
