Second edition of "ON TREND," focusing on my passion: coats. I love a good coat—it's warm, stylish, and protects me from the elements. Also it's a confidence booster, or sometimes, a cozy refuge. As the weather warms in NYC, here's some spring coat inspiration. :)

I have been hearing this rumor that “the puffer” is out. What do you think?

Since we all know the “T” word is swirling and our bank accounts and favorite brands and economy and the earth is falling apart and it’s all a big .…deep breath.

This edition focuses on secondhand finds, not new purchases. We're embracing Resale Spring/Summer.

  1. Lightweight Quilted Jacket

Ganni **pants, sweats** I love. But this color and something about the cut of this jacket reminds me of a feminine take on the classic Barbour hunting jackets, with the iconic Ganni bow and big buttons. I’m sold; it’s not for everyone, but this is for me. There is also something about this Free People quilted jacket. I don’t want to recommend it, but I also don’t not want to. The drop crease in the sleeves could be good or horrible depending on your body shape, so please be advised and try it on before buying.

  1. The Trench

Let's get Inspector Gadget on them. It's time to investigate this spring. What we're investigating, no one really knows, but we all will be looking like we're about to solve that case. It's the classic hit: the calf-length tan, thick fabric with wide collar and nice belt to tie. I'm envisioning it swooshing in the wind as you walk. Maybe leather, hit them with Matrix style this spring. I could even see some of my friends really kill it in a cropped trench coat and biker shorts.

  1. Classic Country Chore Jacket

I missed a recent LL Bean Japan pop-up shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, which my friend told me about. I was disappointed, but it's okay because it's resale season. This inspired me to add this category. My love for chore jackets will always remain. Look at the blue LL Bean Japan collaboration jacket—isn't it Americana and adorable?

  1. Leather Jacket

Go bomber oversized, scrunch up the sleeves, put on heels, and your fashion. I don’t make the rules. DEM the rules. I won’t do it. But it will be done.

Excited to see what brands are cooking up for us, let’s keep it sustainable.
