I’ve never been a proponent for the one-and-done dress. I’ve told myself they’re too singular, leaving little to no room to create break through points, present clashes. My mom never wore, never wears them either. It’s just easier to make sense of a shirt and pants. But lately I’m craving the sort of simplicity that comes with slipping one garment over your head and being done with it.
Maybe it’s the heat or this familiar surrender that comes with the end of a summer but there’s a carefreeness in the air I’d like to embody. Without sacrificing a sense of style. So: how to wear a one-and-done without looking like a bore? Some demonstrations below —
