I had a former client reach out recently and ask me what I’m up to.

She had noticed some things shifting around my bio, logo, and messaging and was curious about what was changing. And since we’re all a little up in each other’s business on social media these days, I figured you might be curious too.

The short version is this:

  1. The heart of the work is still the same: somatic-based communication, professional certification, and amazing support. One client recently told me, “This is the future of somatics.”

  2. I’m craving more depth, not volume. I currently have limited spaces for a small group of women ready to make a fiercely aligned, year long commitment to develop their skills and lead with presence.

  3. The work has grown up with me. What started as a way to help holistic practitioners work smarter has become something much bigger around how we lead, communicate, make decisions, influence, and create change in our lives. It looks a little something like this now:

I started as a massage therapist and spent years listening to people talk while they were on my table. They talked about work, relationships, stress, money, ambition, resentment, dreams, all of it. And I became fascinated by how often what was happening in someone’s body seemed connected to what was happening in their life.

That curiosity eventually became The BodyMind Method©, a somatic-based coaching framework designed to help people listen to what their bodies were communicating and create more lasting change.

For more than a decade, much of my work focused on teaching holistic practitioners how to integrate this method into their work, expand beyond the treatment table, and get paid for their presence.

I retired my hands-on practice in 2018. I became a mom through adoption right before Covid. I went through a period of deep distrust in parts of the wellness industry that caused me to pull back and question a lot of what I had previously accepted without much thought.

Then we navigated my son’s autism diagnosis, which completely expanded the way I think about the relationship between body, mind, behavior, communication, and regulation.

At the same time, I invested deeply in equity-centered leadership and pursued international accreditation so that the work I teach would be grounded not just in my own experience, but in clear professional standards. I chose integrity, not performance.

And maybe the biggest shift of all has been much more personal.

I started paying attention to my own capacity.

For a long time, I was very good at building through urgency. I could handle a lot. I could carry a lot. I could make things happen. And at some point (perimenopause probably had something to do with it) I realized that I no longer wanted my ability to carry more to determine what I built next.

I wanted more simplicity. More depth. More space. I wanted to make sure my career could care for me too.

Or maybe a better way to say it is that I finally understood what the work had been about all along.

Will it still help you grow and scale a service-based business? Absolutely.

Is it still ICF-accredited coach training? You know it.

Will you still learn how to work with the body, nervous system, communication, behavior, and the patterns underneath lasting change? More deeply than ever.

But here’s what I wish everyone understood: you do not need to call yourself a coach to benefit from coaching skills.

Knowing how to listen deeply, ask better questions, stay grounded when emotions are high, create clarity, communicate without controlling, and help another person move toward meaningful change is useful whether you’re coaching clients, leading a team, running a business, raising a child, navigating a marriage, or sitting across the table from someone you love.

It seems simple. But the skills that will change your life are often the most overlooked.

After more than two decades of this work, thousands of coaching conversations, and hundreds of people trained, the results my clients tell me about rarely stay neatly inside the category they originally came to me for.

Recently, a client shared that after years of struggle in her relationship with her son, he initiated a hug with her. A hug she hadn’t received from him in years.

A graduate reached out to tell me that something she had declared for herself during her time in the program had become real. She married the man of her dreams.

I’ve had clients have their first seven-figure year, go from charging $45 an hour to creating $50,000 offers, step out of day-to-day operations, move into retreat-based businesses, and build careers that allowed them to work from anywhere.

I’ve watched clients get promoted, get recruited into positions that were far more aligned with who they had become, and leave jobs that were draining the life out of them. I’ve watched women leave relationships that no longer fit, change the way they lead their teams, have conversations they had been avoiding for years, and build businesses that actually support their lives instead of consuming them.

Some of those outcomes are easy to quantify.

A seven-figure year is easy to market. A promotion looks good on LinkedIn. A $50,000 offer is easy to put into a case study.

But how do you quantify your child reaching for you again?

How do you quantify finally trusting yourself enough to leave something that is no longer right for you? Or recognizing the opportunity that is right when it appears? Or building a life that feels more like yours?

The outcomes look different because the women are different.

But underneath them, the work is remarkably consistent.

My clients learn to hear themselves more clearly. They learn to notice what is happening beneath the words. They learn to stay present when it would be easier to prove, fix, control, perform, or disappear.

They learn to communicate what they actually see, want, need, and know.

They learn how to create movement without always needing to push.

They learn how to lead with presence.

That is what I do now:

I equip driven founders, business owners, and professionals with the skills to lead with presence through a conscious communication framework designed to turn everyday conversations into moments that move people.

You can become more efficient. You can learn another strategy. You can take another course. You can work a little harder.

But eventually, the gap isn’t a knowledge gap.

It is a leadership gap.

And the leadership the world is craving right now isn’t the old top-down model we’re used to. It’s leadership that is grounded, embodied, relational, and built through connection.

It is the difference between knowing what to do and knowing how to create movement with and through other people.

You cannot master it in a 90-minute webinar. You cannot fully integrate it in eight weeks. You cannot read a book about presence and suddenly know how to access it in the middle of a difficult conversation when every old pattern in your body is telling you to react.

It takes practice, feedback, reflection, repetition, and being in relationship with people who are practicing too.

As much as the current marketing world loves breaking everything into tiny, bite-sized pieces, I keep finding myself wanting to go in the opposite direction.

I want wholeness.
I want depth.
I want enough time together for the work to actually become part of how you live, lead, and communicate.

This October, I’m inviting 16 women (4 spots are already claimed) into Lead with Presence, a year-long experience that brings together private coaching, mastermind, retreat, and ICF-accredited coach training and certification.

The private coaching is tailored to you, your goals, your leadership, your business, and your life. We will look at what you are creating, where you are getting in your own way, and what your next level actually requires.

The mastermind is the room where we get to think out loud, practice, be challenged, get perspective, and have the kinds of conversations that are hard to have when you are always the one leading everyone else.

The ICF-accredited training and Embodied Leader Certification gives structure and professional recognition to the skills you are developing. And again, you do not need to become a professional coach for these skills to matter. Coaching skills are leadership skills. They are communication skills. They are relationship skills.

And there will be a retreat, because some things only become clear when you get out of your normal environment, slow down, and give yourself enough space to hear what has been trying to get your attention.

It is a full-year commitment.

Not because I am interested in keeping people in a program for twelve months, but because I am increasingly uninterested in quick fixes that leave you with a full notebook but the same patterns.

I want enough time for the work to become yours. Where you learn the process and then develop your own.

A few things I know some of you will wonder:

  • Can I join after we start? No. Once we begin, the doors close.

  • Will there be another round? Probably, but I genuinely do not know when, what it will look like, or what the investment will be. I am building this around my capacity now, not around an endless launch cycle.

  • Can I buy just one piece of it? No. I have taught this work in enough different formats to know that the integration is the point. The training, coaching, practice, community, and embodiment are not separate pieces to me anymore.

  • I’m just getting started in my career/business, is this a fit for me? No. This is for women established in their career, who have already proven they know their sh*t. What they are looking for is more impact, income, and influence with ease.

  • Are you still offering BodyMind Training? Yes, but it lives inside this experience now. The BodyMind Foundations work is woven throughout Lead with Presence.

  • I’m already a BodyMind graduate. Is this still for me? Absolutely. You are not starting over. You are taking what you already know and deepening your ability to use it in leadership, communication, coaching, business, and life.

Years ago, I had a client tell me that this work provided her a professional credential and the ability to “get paid for [her] presence”. That stuck with me.

What I’m seeing now is that this work belongs in the hands of women who are ready to lead differently.

Women who have already become very good at what they do, but know their next chapter is not about proving that they can do more.

Women who want to lead in a way that feels more aligned, more grounded, more human, and more effective.

Women who understand that presence is not something soft or abstract. It is a professional skill. It is how we listen, discern, communicate, make decisions, create trust, hold boundaries, and move people toward something that matters.

Maybe that is the simplest way I can say what I’m up to now.

I’m not walking away from the work I’ve spent the last two decades building.

I’m finally giving it the room to become what I think it was always meant to be.

If you’ve been watching from the sidelines wondering what all the shifting has been about, now you know.

And if you’ve been feeling the nudge to step into something deeper, let’s connect to see if you’re meant to be in the community with me.

I am so grateful for you and I appreciate you being here for the journey.

Laura

👋 Hello, amazing one! I’m Laura. And I’m so glad you’re here.

If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’re a driven, capable woman who has reached a point where doing more won’t get you more.

Like many of the women I work with, you’re no stranger to working hard. Somewhere along the way, though, you learned to equate doing with value, even though you have so much more to offer than what you can produce, fix, or carry.

And what you actually crave is more spaciousness, simplicity, and ease.

Here’s the good news: what you desire may be much closer than you think.

Through my Lead with Presence work, I help high performing women get better results so they can expand their capacity to influence, lead, and create change without everything depending on them.
