Ask PAM if AI needs you

It’s pretty clear for serious AI users that human oversight becomes less reliable as you scale workflows and use cases.

But if humans should not review everything, what should happen instead?

Meet PAM.

Every AI output should follow one of three paths:

1. Pass. If it is trivial, low-consequence and/or easy to reverse, let it through. No approval needed.

2. Automate. If correctness can be checked against clear rules or independent evidence, automate the verification.

3. Manual. If it requires judgment, carries real consequences or is difficult to reverse, send it to a human.

You should only be put in loops where your judgment can materially change the outcome.

Also, you should keep those loops as few as possible.
