💗 Remembering Dolly Parton 💗

Today, we remember Dolly Parton—a remarkable artist, philanthropist, and advocate whose light reached far beyond music.

For us at Langer Law, one of the most meaningful parts of Dolly’s legacy is her extraordinary commitment to children, literacy, and education. 📚✨

Inspired by her father’s inability to read or write, Dolly created her award-winning Imagination Library in 1995 with a simple but powerful goal: to put books into the hands of children and inspire a lifelong love of reading. What began as a small program in her home county has grown into a global movement that has gifted more than 300 million free books to children around the world.

Dolly once explained that the program was not only for children who might otherwise struggle to access books—it was for every child. She believed deeply in the importance of getting books into the hands of as many children as possible.

And perhaps most fittingly, the very first book mailed through the Imagination Library is The Little Engine That Could—a story Dolly said she always related to because, in her words, “I think I’m the little engine that did it!” 🚂

That spirit captures so much of Dolly’s legacy: dreaming big, believing in possibilities, and helping others along the way.
