I still remember the exact moment it hit me.

Parents almost always look for help after the storm has already landed. A child gets bullied online, can’t put the game down, becomes deeply attached to an AI chatbot. And when a parent finally sends that panicked DM or books a session, they don’t want a link to a two-hour webinar or to read a book. They want to know how to make it better right away.

I’ve been living with that pattern for years. To explain why I built “Sav”, I need to take you back to 2014.

In 2010 I was a young mum in Lagos with a toddler and a newborn, trying to do everything well and mostly feeling like I was guessing. I went looking for parenting information and community that reflected my world, raising children in Nigeria after having lived in the US. Almost everything I found was written for families in the US and the UK.

So I built the thing I couldn’t find. I called it LagosMums; the first blog dedicated to parenting in Nigeria.

It has always taken a village to raise a child. I just believed it could also take an e-village and that belief has carried me for more than a decade.

Since then I’ve coached thousands of parents and children, from Lagos to London to San Francisco. Different cities, same fear usually around screen time. Worried about what their children had already seen and wondering if they are getting it all wrong.

I didn’t want to hand any of those parents my personal opinion, so I trained. Properly, for years. My training spans Cyberpsychology, Neuro-Linguistic programming, Cognitive behavioral therapy, Online safety and child safeguarding, ADHD coaching, Mental health first aid, Brain-Centric Design. I qualified as an accredited coach and mentor with the EMCC UK. I wrote a book, Digital Savvy Parenting: What the World Urgently Needs. And I studied the patterns I kept seeing in family after family until I could name them. Finally, I created a framework which identifies four distinct digital parenting archetypes.

None of this was the plan. I started my career in finance, at Bloomberg, Wachovia Bank (now Wells Fargo) and Shell, with an MBA from Yale. I never set out to become a parenting coach. Then I became a mother, and the work found me.

Here is what makes parenting so much harder. We are the first generation of parents raising children across an Ana-digi-Logue divide. We remember life before digital, back when you drove to a video club to rent a physical film. Raising children who are fluent in TikTok, Roblox and vibe coding. We are expected to guide them through all this without a manual.

Most digital parenting content only adds to the weight and worry. Governments in countries like Australia and the UK are banning social media , and the parents I speak to feel two things at once: relief, and a quiet worry about what it actually means for their child’s everyday life.

My work has always come back to one idea that we can design our homes for harmony, clear boundaries and real connection.

Abundance doesn’t mean having it all figured out. It means treating family life as something you design where you learn, you adjust and you keep parenting on purpose.

Here is the hard part. I can’t scale myself. I can’t sit at your dinner table or ride along on the school run. I wanted the guidance I give in coaching to live somewhere you can reach it the moment you need a steady hand.

That is why I built Sav.

Sav is a personalized, trusted parenting companion for the AI era. That third parent in your pocket. Calm, judgment-free, cyberpsychology-informed, available 24/7.

A standard AI tool such as ChatGPT or Gemini will answer any question with confident, generic information and no understanding of child safeguarding or what is actually age-appropriate for your child. Sav is trained on your family: your goals, your values, your household. And it runs on the frameworks I’ve developed and tested over a decade with thousands of families:

  • Your Digital Parenting Archetype™ shows you your default digital style, so you can bring it back into a healthy balance.

  • The Digital Hierarchy of Needs™ makes sure technology and AI support your family’s wellbeing instead of disrupting it.

  • The DFRL Loop moves you from panic into a repeatable routine: Do, Feedback, Review, Learn.

I don’t want to meet you at the wall, after a digital crisis has already shattered your family’s peace. I want to meet you before you hit it.

A mother in our community recently scheduled an urgent coaching session. She was deeply overwhelmed, convinced that the algorithm had entirely stolen her 14-year-old son’s presence. He was constantly distracted, pulling away into his phone, and defensive whenever boundaries were brought up. She wanted a checklist of apps to block his access immediately.

During our conversation, I asked her to walk me through their typical evening routine.

As she spoke, she stopped mids-entence, and I watched the exact moment the realization hit her like a lightning bolt. She confessed:

“I was lecturing my son about his screen dependency while my own phone was buzzing on my lap, and I was subconsciously checking a work email. I realized my own digital habits were completely undoing any intentional parenting I thought I was doing. I was demanding a presence from him that I wasn’t giving back to the room.”

Instead of focusing on restrictive bans, we shifted her strategy completely. She went home, admitted her own digital struggles to her son, and together they mapped out their family’s Digital Hierarchy of Needs™. By stepping away from her own screen during family hours, she designed a safe, warm space for her son to step away from his. Within two weeks, the defensive walls crumbled, not because of a new blocking app, but because she modeled the boundary she wanted to build.
