“Watch party” sounds more jovial than this will probably be.
Tonight, Donald Trump will be addressing the nation. It is anticipated that he will be making unsubstantiated claims about the 2020 election in order to justify mechanisms he is already putting in place to “secure” the midterms. Experts are raising the alarm that this could be a critical moment in the unraveling of our democracy.
Robby Jones, Jemar Tisby, and I will be watching live. And, we’ll be trying our hand at our first Substack Live. We won’t be livestreaming the talk itself—you can find it online—but you can listen in as we process the speech in real time. We’ll start just before 9pm ET.
