A few months ago, we started a simple goal: digitize the Real Property Tax (RPT) system for the Province of Abra.

What we didn’t expect was the immediate, human impact it would generate.

As we dove deep into the platform’s development, we saw firsthand how outdated, paper-based systems slow down not just processes, but progress. So we moved fast — setting up cloud infrastructure, fixing backend systems, and shipping features weekly.

Along the way, something special happened.

🚨 We opened up 20 new jobs for local Abreños — energetic youth who will now help us migrate decades of tax declaration documents into clean, digital records.

This is people empowerment.

It’s a chance for young people in the province to experience firsthand what it means to work in tech-adjacent roles — handling government systems, working with software tools, and being part of a modern transformation.

This is what I believe technology should do:
Not just solve problems. But open doors.

As someone born and raised in the Philippines, I know how often talent gets overlooked just because of geography. Through this project, I hope we start proving a new point:

You don’t have to be in a highly urbanized cities like BGC or Makati to help digitize the Philippines.
Sometimes, real impact starts in the provinces.

To the 20 new hires: welcome to tech.
To Abra: let’s keep building.
To the rest of the country: you’re next.
