A couple of weeks ago, I asked for your input about how you prefer to receive what I write—articles, audio, video, and so on. Your responses were genuinely helpful, so today I’d like to ask one more favor.
This time, the questions aren’t really about King’s Chronicles. They’re about how you use Substack.
Some of you receive these posts only by email and may not even think of Substack as anything more than the service that delivers them. Others regularly use the website or the app, read Notes, participate in Chats, leave comments, and take advantage of other features. Both approaches are perfectly fine.
The reason I’m asking is simple: I’d rather spend my time improving the parts of King’s Chronicles that people actually use than investing energy in features that don’t add much value for this community.

One other thought. I’ve mentioned before that King’s Chronicles feels like it’s gradually becoming more of a community, and I like that. But community doesn’t mean everyone participates in the same way. Some people enjoy conversations in the comments. Some quietly read every article. Some simply open the email when they have a few spare minutes. All of those are legitimate ways to be part of a community.
In other words, you get to decide how—and how much—you participate. That’s really the point of this survey. I want to understand what works for you so I can spend my time where it will be most helpful.
Next week I’ll publish a practical guide showing how to customize your King’s Chronicles subscription so you receive notifications only for the kinds of posts that interest you most. In many cases, that’s a better solution than unsubscribing entirely, though, of course, you’re always free to decide what’s right for you.
