Last weekend I attended Tetfest with a few friends. We’ve been going for a few years now, simply because it’s a lighthearted, cheap and entertaining event.
It’s very well organised and all the performers are usually very decent cover bands, so you can sing along and enjoy the atmosphere. This year we had a bit of Dolly Parton, Dua Lipa, Stereoholics, Johnny2Bad, Bootlegger’s Turn, Rythm of the 90’s and most fun of all, Junior Jungle made a reappearance after his awesome set last year.
The beers were reasonably priced, which was a good thing as it was 31°C, it was certainly flowing down my neck. The food for the most part was reasonably priced too, other than the noodle cart, those fuckers wanted £14 out of me for a pitiful amount of stale noodles with three pieces of chicken in what tasted like a shop bought katsu curry sauce. I wasn’t impressed as you can probably tell.
There’s plenty of entertainment for kids, a full on free funfair etc. I personally didn’t bother heading to that side of the festival site, too far away from the beer tent :D And for those of you who like to look like idiots, a silent disco!
Once thing I noted which was unusual for festivals, they had cleaners every two hours in the portaloos! Imagine that, a clean portaloo! Usually you’re left to hover over a turd mountain whilst flies are landing on your nutsack! Not only that, toilet paper!!!
Next year’s tickets will be on sale from Friday, with an early bird discount. I mean, a tenner for a day’s entertainment, how can you go wrong?
