I am finally sitting in my regular comfy spot and full of gratitude. My husband is home from a 5 day hospital stay. We have a wellness plan in place with his urologist. I’m not going to lie. There were times I was overwhelmed with fear. But, there was one thing that was consistent. The overwhelming presence of God. Especially as I drove back and forth from the hospital, singing songs at the top of my lungs.
🎧 This song was ever present in my mind…Raise a Hallelujah.
God is good. We’ve had what we know are special “divine driven God-purposed” interactions with folks. We are thankful we
I am still tired. I haven’t written much as I’ve tried to get back into a “normal” rhythm. I’m leaning in this week again to appreciate “margins.”
Here’s the Truth About Margins. I had a lot to say about it a couple of weeks ago. You can read it here: https://kimsteadman.substack.com/p/11-a-quiet-journal-storms-of-life
📚 What I’m reading: I’m still reading Projeckt 1065 by Alan Gratz. My 13 year-old grandson got me hooked on these historical fiction books by this author. I’m excited to read what excites him and makes him love reading again. I’m also reading Sacred Rhythms by Ruth Haley Barton.
📺What I’m watching: The movie, Hail Mary…TWICE. I love the movie soundtrack as much as the movie. I may watch it again!
🥣 What I’m eating: It’s more like what I’m not eating. Hubs is now on a low oxalate diet. One of the changes is no more peanut butter or nuts which are two huge staples here in our house. It won’t be forever (hopefully). But, I’m a supportive wife. If he can’t eat it, I won’t eat it either.
✍️What I’m writing: I’ve made progress with 1000 words into the children’s chapter book I started 5 years ago. Our grandson comes to visit in August, and I sure would like to give him a draft copy. We shall see…maybe a couple of draft chapters for sure.
💻What I’m studying: I’m completing my 4th week of a Pinterest Bootcamp. I really have learned a lot!
😇What I’m doing during my quiet time: Continuing my “Summer in the Psalms Reading Plan”
Psalm 135:1-3, MSG Hallelujah! Praise the name of God, praise the works of God. All you priests on duty in God’s temple, serving in the sacred halls of our God, Shout “Hallelujah!” because God’s so good, sing anthems to his beautiful name.
Heavenly Father, thank you for meeting us smack in the messy middle of life. Thank you for your presence and comfort.
