Tuesday night, the voters of Florida’s 12th Congressional District spoke, and I am deeply honored to have earned the Democratic nomination for Congress.
This victory belongs to every volunteer who knocked on a door in the Florida heat. Every supporter who made phone calls. Every donor who gave what they could. Every family member who sacrificed time with a loved one. Every voter who believed that leadership still matters and that our community deserves a representative who will listen, lead, and fight for the people of Hillsborough and Pasco Counties.
I am humbled by the trust you have placed in me, and I will work every day to earn it.
I also want to thank Darren McAuley for his gracious call after the election and for his public commitment to helping us win in November. Campaigns can be competitive, but what matters most is what happens next. Darren and his supporters care deeply about the future of our community, and I welcome everyone who wants to help build a stronger, more affordable, and more accountable future for Florida’s 12th Congressional District.
The primary is over.
Now our work begins.
Throughout this campaign, I have talked with voters in every corner of our district. I’ve listened to seniors worried about Social Security and Medicare. I’ve spoken with veterans frustrated by long waits and unanswered concerns. I’ve met parents struggling to afford housing, healthcare, groceries, and insurance. I’ve heard from young people wondering if they will ever be able to buy a home or build the future they dream about.
The message has been remarkably consistent.
People are tired of politicians who spend more time serving political parties and special interests than serving the people they represent.
They want leadership that listens.
They want leaders who show up.
They want accountability.
And they want someone who will fight for them.
That’s why I’m running.
After decades of service in our community as a small business owner, Certified Financial Planner, and Hillsborough County Commissioner, I’ve learned that good leadership isn’t about ideological talking points. It’s about solving problems, bringing people together, and delivering results.
That’s what I’ve done throughout my career, and that’s what I will do in Congress.
This election comes at a pivotal moment for our community and our country.
Families are being squeezed by rising costs.
Housing affordability remains one of the biggest challenges facing our region.
Healthcare costs continue to rise.
Property insurance premiums are breaking family budgets.
Seniors are worried about retirement security.
Veterans deserve better than promises.
Working families deserve more than political slogans.
The people of Florida’s 12th Congressional District need a representative who understands these challenges because they are living them alongside their constituents.
This race is not about partisan games.
It is about whether Washington will finally start working for the people who send representatives there.
Winning the Democratic nomination is an important milestone, but it is only the beginning.
The reality is simple: if we want to change Washington, we have to win in November.
That means building the broadest coalition possible.
Democrats.
Independents.
Moderates.
Veterans.
Seniors.
Working families.
Young voters.
Community leaders.
People who may not agree on every issue but agree that our district deserves better representation and stronger leadership.
This campaign has always been about bringing people together around common goals: affordability, opportunity, accountability, and service.
As we move forward, our campaign will continue focusing on the issues that matter most to the people of this district:
Protecting Social Security and Medicare.
Expanding access to affordable healthcare.
Addressing the housing affordability crisis.
Supporting veterans and military families.
Investing in education and workforce development.
Strengthening our economy by supporting working families and small businesses.
Restoring accountability and transparency in government.
These are not Democratic issues or Republican issues.
They are Florida issues.
They are family issues.
They are community issues.
For years, many people assumed this congressional seat was out of reach.
I don’t believe that.
Not because victory will be easy.
But because voters are looking for leadership that listens.
They are looking for leaders who put people first.
They are looking for someone who understands that public service is about solving problems, not scoring political points.
Together, we have already proven that a grassroots campaign can compete.
Now we must prove that a grassroots campaign can win.
That will require every one of us.
More conversations.
More volunteers.
More phone calls.
More doors knocked.
More supporters stepping forward to become part of something larger than themselves.
Victory in November will not belong to one candidate.
It will belong to an entire community that decided it was time for a new direction.
Primary night was a moment to celebrate.
Today is a moment to organize.
Tomorrow is a moment to grow.
And for the next 75 days, it is time to work.
We have an opportunity to send a powerful message that leadership matters, that service matters, and that the people of Florida’s 12th Congressional District deserve a representative who answers to them and no one else.
I am ready for that fight.

We won the primary.
Now we need to win in November.
