The Khalis Audio Library continues with the second instalment of Darkness Defied: The Life and Legacy of Jaswant Singh Khalra, written by Bhai Ajmer Singh and narrated by Ranveer Singh.
When we launched this series, our goal was simple: to make important Sikh books freely accessible in audio form. While nothing replaces reading a book, audio offers another way to engage with our history, whether you’re commuting, working, exercising or simply unable to find the time to sit down with a printed copy.
This episode includes:
📖 Chapter 3 – From Comrade to Sikh
📖 Chapter 4 – Life Takes a Sharp Turn
🎙️ Additional commentary by Ranveer Singh
These chapters mark a significant turning point in Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra’s life. They explore his ideological and spiritual journey, tracing how his experiences and convictions shaped the man who would later dedicate himself to uncovering the truth behind thousands of enforced disappearances in Panjab.
Alongside the narration, there is additional commentary to provide historical context and expand on some of the themes that emerge from these chapters. The intention isn’t to interrupt the book, but to help listeners situate its ideas within the wider historical and political landscape.
The Khalis Audio Library is an extension of Khalis House Publishing’s mission: to preserve stories, recover voices, and build a lasting library of Sikh literature. We hope these recordings make these important works more accessible to the Panth and encourage listeners to explore the printed editions as well.
If you find this series valuable, please consider subscribing to the podcast, sharing it with others, and supporting the work by purchasing the book.
