In the start.

I used to feel bad every time a client paid me.

There was this little voice in my head that was telling me…

“is this okay? Am I allowed to want this?”

It took me months to realize the voice wasn’t mine. It was inherited through what I was being told my whole life…

Somewhere along the way, most of us picked up this idea that money is dirty.

That wanting more of it makes you shallow.

That the “good” version of you is the one who does the work for free, or at least pretends not to care about getting paid for it.

Nobody sits us down and teaches us this.

In fact I remember being a kid and money was a topic at the dinner table that was seen as.. taboo or something not discussion worthy but for some reason, politics was still okay….

It just seems to show up in random little bits in life. A comment here from friends, a movie villain there, a relative who says “money can’t buy happiness” every time the topic comes up.

By the time you’re an adult, you’ve got this whole belief system installed, and you never even chose it, you’re programmed.

Here’s the thing though. Money itself doesn’t do anything.

It doesn’t have morals. It’s not evil and it’s not good. It’s just a tool, a way to move value from one place to another.

What’s actually good or evil is what a person does with it.

More specifically, what YOU do with it.

I think about the ghostwriters I’ve worked with over the years.

The ones who stayed broke weren’t the most talented.

They were the ones who felt guilty charging what they were worth. They’d discount themselves into the ground because some part of them believed wanting to get paid fairly made them greedy.

Then they’d find themselves over working and getting headaches over something that just isn’t worth it.

Meanwhile the ones who built real businesses, they didn’t love the money more.

They just stopped treating it like something shameful. They let themselves want it, plan for it, ask for it directly.

That shift changes everything. Because if you secretly believe money is bad, you will sabotage yourself every single time you get close to it.

You’d undercharge. You’ll avoid the sales conversation.

You’ll feel weird asking for a raise or a testimonial or a referral. Not because you lack skill, but because some buried part of you thinks wanting more makes you a bad person.

I had to unlearn that slowly and honestly, the way I unlearned it wasn’t through some mindset hack.

It was 2 things for me personally:

It was just watching what I actually did with money once I had more of it.

Secondly it was with the friends I was hanging around with. They didn’t see it as bad or good they just saw it as…. There ya know?

Money didn’t change who I was. It just gave me more room to be who I already was, at a bigger scale.

in short “money amplifies you” and this is true.

So if you’re sitting on some belief that wanting money makes you less spiritual, less humble, less good, I’d just ask you to look at where the lack of it teaches you.
