July = 7

1 (Year) + 7 = 8 Month

After the dreamy nature of the 7 month, the collective arrives in July with the clarity to move forward on the plans made and the decisions that emerged through reflection.

The number 8 is associated with power, finance, law, and authority. In 8 cycles, the collective is confronted with reality in one way or another. Ideas that once existed only as possibilities begin to take shape in the material world, revealing both the strength of the foundations we’ve built and the consequences of the choices we’ve made. This is a month where vision transforms into action as the path ahead emerges on the landscape of Metanoia.

On a broader level, the 8 invites us to examine the systems that govern our lives. Governments, financial markets, corporations, legal institutions, and social hierarchies often take center stage during this energy, encouraging us to look beyond individual events and consider the structures that produce them.

A reminder that the 8 is not necessarily good or bad—it is simply the capacity to create systemic change. The question is whether we use this power to give structure to our highest intentions, or allow it to reinforce the patterns we've always known. July encourages us to recognize that every institution, law, and system was once an idea, and that power is the mechanism through which the intentions of a 1 year become structure.

In light of this, I’ve chosen Seize the Power by Yonaka as the theme song for July:

The first part of this song always makes me chuckle because of how upfront it is, but this is how I imagine the ego maniacs running the world operate, and I say we’re long overdue for the humble to walk up to the plate.

My general advice this month is to recognize that power exists on many scales, and those who seek it out the most by any means necessary typically suffer from a severe deficit of internal resources that give true power, true self agency and strength. It is weak men that seek power, as I’ve already touched on in this post called God’s Monsters.

Resist the temptation to chase immediate gratification. Ask yourself whether the decisions you're making today will still serve you and the collective years from now. This month favors meaningful progress over quick wins.

If this year has inspired a new direction, July asks you to begin giving it structure. The collective future is shaped by what each of us choose to reinforce today.
