Quick reminder that you're reading issue three of the third annual Summer Strategy Series where we walk through my whole brand strategy process. Catch up on issue one here, and issue two here.

This week, it’s all about your ideal client persona.

Your ideal client is the person that is a great fit for what you have to offer. They value you and your brand. They get great results because they align with what you have to share. They identify with your brand’s message, values and purpose. They will become (if they haven’t already) your brand ambassadors and will eagerly advocate on your behalf. They are the person that you would clone over and over again, because working with them was so unbelievably joyful.

In a nutshell, it’s the perfect-for-you person that is aligned with the service(s) you’re selling.

Now, this strategy pillar is right up there with core identity in that it can be so hard to nail down. What I hear most often from clients is something like, “I know I can’t be for everyone... but my services can help more than just this type of person.” Or, “Well, I picked this persona but someone totally different reached out. What do I do?”

So let’s address those gremlins first and foremost, because it’s incredibly challenging to narrow down who you’re a great fit for when you have a whole bunch of stories rumbling around in your brain about why you shouldn’t niche down.
