There’s a conversation happening at BrandRaise right now about capacity and whether it makes sense to bring on team - specifically, what that would look like, and who does what.
Over the last two weeks that this has been more top-of-mind for me, I’m finding it much harder than I expected to answer a pretty basic question: What do I want to hand off?
Part of what’s making it hard is that I’ve spent a significant portion of the last nearly three years living in the strategy work. I’m not saying that as a complaint, but more so the reality of being a business owner, and one of which was brand new. It’s also the outcome of being in a partnership. My business partner naturally fell into the external networker role, while I naturally fell into the strategic thinker role. And because it was a fairly natural evolution, we both wound up in our zones of genius. For the most part, it works.
Yes and, zones of genius are funny in that they can also start to feel like a cage if you’re not careful.
