Happy Monday All! It’s been a minute since my last newsletter - partly because the stomach bug, followed by a “sticky” winter virus have taken over our household and we’re finally getting to the other side. And partly because we’ve been heads down planning the launch of the Career, Care, Connection Summit with my cohost Kaleana Quibell, and I’m SOOOO proud to say it has officially opened for registration!

Parent Supportive Open Roles
In 2025, 455,000 women left the workforce, while 100,000 men joined. Or so the stats say. What we’ve found, after talking with 1000s of parents and sharing their stories - women aren’t “leaving”, they’re redefining on their terms. And often, that’s not reflected in these stats!
We created this summit to elevate the real stories of what moms ARE doing.
Some are returning to the corporate world, driving culture change around the systems and policies in place for parents and caregivers.
Some are building solo-ventures, closing partnership deals over voice notes while in the school pickup line.
Some are raising capital for their startups, despite the persisting gap than only 2% of VC funding goes to women-led startups
Some are taking a beat, to intentionally design their next chapter
The Summit is 4 days of keynotes, panels, and workshops designed for moms redefining success at work and home. And we know ya’ll are busy, so come for what you can. All Virtual. Sessions will be recorded. Babies & Kids welcome. Tickets starting at $25!
Registration is officially open! Use code “EARLY25” for 25% off any ticket type.
**And if you are a paid annual subscriber of this newsletter or become one, dm or email me at kelly@storkandspark.com for a complimentary Community Pass ticket, worth $97, which includes 4 months membership with the Society of Working Moms.
[And now a word from our sponsor RightWise Wealth, just in time for tax season]
Do you just have a transactional relationship with your CPA? When your career is in its highest-earning years – and its lowest-earning years, whether at home or starting a new business – you need more than tax filing. You need a tax strategy. RightWise Wealth is Caitlyn Driehorst (ex-BCG, Berkeley-Haas) and Hannah Farrow (ex-Apple, MIT) who are hands-on helping clients optimize their investments and overall tax picture – and, getting their clients’ taxes filed. Set up time to chat with their team here. (Marketing disclosures here.)”
Executive Moms founder, and Editor-in-Chief of Mothered Magazine, Alexa Starks is launching the 2026 Maternal Strengths Report, quantifying the leadership strengths women increase or gain after becoming moms, and whether workplaces are recognizing them.
We know intuitively that we become better leaders as mothers and parents. This report will bring that data.
You can help contribute your experience and perspective in this 5-10 minutes survey.
And learn more about the initiatives in Alexa’s post here.
P.S. Alexa will be speaking at the Career, Care, Connection Summit, talking about returning from Mat Leave with Confidence and Power!
Stork & Spark supporter, Chis Rogers, founder of MomWgn, is launching an afterschool transportation startup with local moms doing the driving. As a dad, he wondered for years why we can’t call a ride for our kids - just like we call an Uber - with a safe and trustworthy driver. When he thought about who other parents would trust, the answer was obvious - a neighborhood mom. Someone who is safety vetted and vouched for, and who knows the pickup and dropoff lanes, the soccer fields, karate dojos and music schools. Someone the community trusts.
To help him understand demand and user feedback, he has this 4 question survey he’d love your input on. Should take 1-2 minutes!
P.S. Here’s Chris, showing up as the dad in the room, and a recent Bay Area connection event!
