tbh i hate sports. i’m not into it, and my husband went to university of missouri, or mizzou as they call it, and he and his friends wanted to watch the game every single saturday, and i don’t care about the game but i do care about food and i love eating and i love cooking. so we decided a few years ago to basically create a menu for every single game that was based on who we were playing that day.

so for example, one of the games we played a school in boston, we picked up these garbo’s lobster rolls in austin. we played kansas one time we got kansas city barbecue. we played louisiana one time and one of our friends made gumbo for the kickoff game of the season. and we always do something that mizzou is known for, so we got on goldbelly and ordered imo’s pizza and toasted ravs.

it just made it like a really fun way to get into the spirit of football season and have something to be excited about besides just the team and the sports, especially if you don’t care about it. it’s a way for everybody to get involved.

it would literally take me hours to go research each opponent and what food they were known for, find recipes, find local places that could like cover it, send that out to friends, have people sign up for things. it was just kind of a mix between like a group chat in your iphone and a shared iphone note.

so it was just a lot harder than this year. like literally this took me five minutes, and it’s so organized and everyone is like way more on top of it and everything is just linked.

i’ve learned how to make these free websites with claude, like our travel itinerary website and our school year command center website, so i decided to make one that shows the entire season, who we’re playing each week, with specific ideas listed out for that day.

i did a mix of either things that you could just pick up from the grocery store, or order from a restaurant locally, or really easy recipes that i hyperlinked in there, or if it’s something really specific, ordering on goldbelly.

we also implemented like a little bit of a betting situation for each game. i also implemented a kids activity per game, and even like a kid friendly food option based on what we were eating, to kind of like have something extra to do but make it really low lift.

and then i made this interactive so people could actually go in and sign up to host, or sign up for what they were gonna bring, or rsvp, and there is a save button so it saves. it also lets you add straight to your calendar so everybody’s on the same page. i’m obsessed.

i sent it out and to be honest some people were a little bit confused at first. and we expanded it this year to invite more people, so based on whoever we were inviting and what their alma mater was, i was asking claude to make individual one pagers based on their team, so if they wanted to bring something specific for their game they could do that. then we set up like dual screen tvs, we pulled in our roller tv that’s in our bedroom into the living room so we can play multiple games at one time.

obviously there’s like nap time and stuff like that with kids, and some stuff is holidays and halloween and thanksgiving, so it won’t work every single time. but this is a fun way to just get football season more exciting for everyone, not just the dudes.

you don’t need a website to get the menu part, which is the part that took me all those hours. paste this into claude or chatgpt and fill in the brackets.

i’m planning a weekly football watch party for the [YOUR TEAM] 2026 season.
here is the schedule:
[PASTE YOUR TEAM’S SCHEDULE FROM THEIR ATHLETICS SITE]
for every saturday, give me:
1. the opponent, and what city or region that school is in
2. one cuisine for that week based on that city. just one,
   don’t give me options
3. five or six specific dishes, and next to each one put GRAB or
MAKE. grab means i can buy it already made. make means it’s a
   real recipe.
4. anything marked MAKE has to be genuinely easy. i have a
toddler on my hip. no three hour braises.
5. a kid friendly version a 2 to 4 year old will actually eat.
   soft, mild, handheld.
6. one kids activity with zero setup and no store run
7. a beer, a cocktail and a wine, because not everybody
   drinks beer
flag any game that is not on a saturday.
format it week by week so i can paste it into a group text.

there are two things you should know before you run it.

pull the schedule off your school’s actual athletics site and paste it in. don’t let the ai tell you the schedule, it will get a date wrong and you’ll find out on a saturday.

and if you ask it for links, check every single one. it will hand you a recipe url that goes nowhere. if you send out a menu with a dead link on it, somebody is standing in the grocery store with nothing to buy.

(this is the same move i run on dinner and the school year and packing. if you want the full set of prompts i actually use, the working mom’s ai playbook is here.)

psst, the whole build is below

for less than what we spend on one saturday’s queso, you get the stuff i don’t put on instagram:

how to set up the free thing that makes your page actually save, so when your friend types in that she’s bringing the dip, it’s still there tomorrow and everybody else can see it.
the whole prompt i pasted into claude to get my website built. you copy it, fill in your team and your city, and it builds yours.
my actual file with everything blanked out so you can drop your own season in, plus a link to the live one so you can click around and see what it does before you start.
every system i’ve ever built in here, the whole archive.
the chat, and everything i only share with paid subscribers.

the whole setup is below, every step, every screenshot, the actual file i’m running this season.
