Ok friend...get ready, because these ribs are about to change your life. A few months ago, we took a family drive outside the city to a grocery store that doubles as entertainment. When you live in New York City, suburban grocery shopping is in and of itself a fun experience, but the Stew Leonards in Yonkers is legitimately entertaining -- they have singing, dancing avocados, cows that moo at the press of a button, and so much more (like soft serve ice cream). Needless to say, Iris loves it and I thoroughly enjoy pushing a grocery cart down the wide aisles and loading all of the food into the trunk of my car, like people in most parts of the country do when grocery shopping.

Anyway, back to the ribs. They had packages of individually cut spare ribs, which I had never seen before, but have since learned are a pretty common thing. I bought a few packages, brought them home and seasoned them, made a homemade BBQ sauce, and threw it all in the slow cooker. Ryan was extremely skeptical, he thought it was going to be a fail, but I more than proved him wrong. After six hours in the slow cooker, the ribs were practically falling off the bone. I put them on a sheet pan and under the broiler they went. Since they’re individually cut, they got extra crispy all around, and I drizzled them with extra sauce. They were unbelievable. I’m not sure I ever want to make ribs any other way ever again. They are so EASY it is crazy and taste unbelievably good.

I felt like I needed to make an episode of It’s Not Complicated to show you exactly how I made the ribs and how I make my homemade BBQ sauce as well. This episode was sponsored by my friends at Nulo, and I made Gus a little something special with their dog food. Gus is a longtime Nulo fan, even appearing on the bag of their small dog breed food and he was actually on a billboard ad for Nulo in Times Square! Yes, I am his stage mom and super proud of him.

Oh, one more thing. I also make Brown Butter Sesame Corn in this episode. It’s so good too!!

Let me know what you think, I love reading your comments and answering your questions.
