September always feels like a turning point. One foot still in the warmth of summer, the other stepping into the shift of fall. These months bring their share of full calendars and deadlines, along with the subtle pressure of “finishing the year strong.” But beneath all that, the season itself offers an invitation: to notice the change, to recalibrate, to let new energy in.
For me, this time of year has always carried a sense of fresh start. Maybe it’s the 18 years of “back to school” shopping that left their mark, but something about fall still feels like sharpened pencils and clean notebooks. We return to routines, to regular rhythms, to structure. And within that structure, I find a new spark of creativity.
So here’s my goal for the “-ber” months: embrace the fullness of the schedule, carve out rest inside of it, and let the shift of the season spark new creative energy.
Where in my work could I incorporate time outside as we invite fall weather back in?
Which creative projects truly need to be wrapped before year’s end, which can wait for 2026, and which goals am I ready to release?
What is something I have enjoyed this summer that I can carry with me into fall?
In what ways does fall feel like a fresh start for me, and how can I honor that sense of newness?
What creative ideas or projects feel like they’re “sharpening” this season, asking me to refine, polish, or bring them forward?
In case you missed it, I officially launched my mentorship services for photographers. I’m currently offering two ways to work together:
One-Time Coaching Call: Perfect if you’re looking for focused guidance on specific areas like pricing, pitching, client experience, streamlining your workflow, navigating gear decisions, or simply needing clarity in a few key places.
The Elevate Membership Program: A flexible, tailored mentorship designed to meet you where you are. Whether you’re booking your very first clients, stepping into brand and hospitality work, or refining your business to reflect a more premium offering, this program gives you the ongoing support to grow with intention.
If either feels like the right fit, I’d love to connect with you through my website.
The beauty of fall is that it reminds us creativity is cyclical. It grows, sharpens, and resets with the seasons. If you’re in a place where you want support shaping that process in your own work, I’d love to walk alongside you. Regardless, I hope these prompts give you a starting place to carve out your own reset this week.
xx,
Kathryn Ann
